More information about Spätburgunder trocken - Weingut Meßmer

This barrel-aged Pinot Noir from the Palatinate wine-growing region presents itself in a bright light red in the glass. The nose of this Meßmer winery red wine is full of plums. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in large wooden barrels adds further aromas such as pepper, toasted wood and blackcurrant.

The Pinot Noir from Weingut Meßmer is a good choice for all wine lovers who like it dry. However, it is never austere or brittle, but round and smooth. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly fleshy texture. The Pinot Noir reveals itself to be wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its concise fruit acidity. On the finish, this red wine from the Palatinate region finally delights with good length. There are again hints of plum. Mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils are added to the finish.

Vinification of the Meßmer Pinot Noir estate

This balanced red wine from Germany is made from the Pinot Noir grape variety. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone soils in the Palatinate. The grapes for this red wine from Germany are harvested exclusively by hand once optimum ripeness has been ensured. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

Dining recommendation for the Meßmer Pinot Noir wine

This red wine from Germany is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is the perfect accompaniment to roast veal liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce, boeuf bourguignon or vegetable couscous with beef rissoles.
