Widder Chardonnay - Weingut Hörner

Vinification of the Weingut Hörner Widder Chardonnay

This balanced white wine from Germany is made vegan from the Chardonnay grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Pfalz. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into soils of clay and loess. Once perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Widder Chardonnay are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of strenuous and imprecise machinery. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is matured for several months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Weingut Hörner Widder Chardonnay

This German wine is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompaniment to leek tortilla, pumpkin casserole or chickpea curry.
