More information about Bricco del Cucolo Barbera d'Alba DOC - Castello di Verduno

Held at a slight angle, a transition in color towards garnet red is visible at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. When the glass is swirled, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Castello di Verduno offers aromas of mulberries, black cherries, blackberries, blueberries and morello cherries, complemented by cinnamon, oriental spices and vanilla. The Castello di Verduno Bricco del Cucolo Barbera d'Alba is a pleasantly dry wine. This red wine is never coarse or austere, as you would expect from a top-quality wine. On the finish, this mature red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region finally delights with its beautiful length. Once again, there are hints of plum and damson.

Vinification of the Castello di Verduno Bricco del Cucolo Barbera d'Alba

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Barbera. Only first-class grapes were used for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Castello di Verduno. The Bricco del Cucolo Barbera d'Alba is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
