More information about Cicinis Collio DOC - Attems

The elegant Cicinis Collio from the hand of Attems shimmers into the glass with a bright light yellow. When the wine glass is swirled, you can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it does not appear watery, nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. The bouquet of this white wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia seduces with hints of gooseberry, white currant, Galia melon, and papaya. As we pursue the aromatics further, vanilla, cocoa bean, and black tea join in.

On the palate, Cicinis Collio from Attems starts off wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven, and balanced. On the tongue, this well-balanced white wine is characterized by an extremely dense texture. The finish of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, more precisely from Collio Goriziano / Collio DOC, ultimately impresses with an exceptional length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral notes from the clay- and sandstone-dominated soils.

Vinification of Cicinis Collio from Attems

This white wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Sauvignon Blanc. Only immaculate grapes were brought in for this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Attems. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Here the vines drive their roots deep into soils of sandstone, clay, and marl. After being hand-harvested, the grapes reach the winery as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation in concrete and small wood follows at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for Cicinis Collio from Attems

This Italian is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompanying wine with cabbage rolls, pasta with grilled sausage dumplings, or a potato pan with salmon.
