The Costera Cannonau di Sardegna DOC from the Argiolas family winery in Sardinia has an intense ruby red color in the glass with light grana red nuances. The bouquet is typical of the variety and has an intense aroma of wine. On the palate, this Sardinian red wine is warm, round, beautifully balanced and well-structured.

Vinification of the Costera Cannonau di Sardegna from Argiolas

The Cannonau, Sardinia's traditional wine, is made from 100% Cannonau grapes, an indigenous Sardinian vine that thrives in the south of Italy's largest Mediterranean island, on the fertile soils of the Medio Campidano. The soils are calcareous, partly interspersed with clay marl, moderately heavy and loose and mixed with small and medium-sized gravel. A Mediterranean climate with mild winters, limited rainfall and very warm and windy summers promote the growth of this ancient grape variety. After harvesting, the grapes are macerated at a controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation in tanks and ageing in small wooden barrels for a period of 8 to 10 months. After a short period in the bottle, the wine is ready to enjoy.
