More information about Darmagi Langhe DOC - Gaja

The Darmagi Langhe from the wine-growing region of Piedmont presents itself in the glass with a dense purple-red color. The first nose of the Darmagi Langhe reveals notes of honeydew melon and blackberry. To the fruity aspects of the bouquet are added further fruity-balsamic nuances.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with an exceptionally low residual sugar content. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly sets itself apart from simpler qualities, and thus this Italian, despite all its dryness, charms with the finest balance. Excellent flavor does not necessarily require sugar. Powerful and complex, this dense red wine presents itself on the palate. On the finish, this very ageworthy wine from the wine-growing region of Piedmont finally impresses with good length. Once again, hints of blackberry and honeydew melon appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the sandstone- and limestone-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of Gaja Darmagi Langhe

The powerful Darmagi Langhe from Italy is a varietal wine made from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. In Piedmont, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay, limestone, and sandstone soils. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for Darmagi Langhe by Gaja

Ideally, enjoy this red wine from Italy at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to Thai cucumber salad, ossobuco, or boeuf bourguignon.
