More information about Darmagi Langhe DOC - Gaja
With the Gaja Darmagi Langhe, a first-class red wine is poured into the glass. It presents a wonderfully dense, purple-red color. If you hold the glass at a slight angle, you can see a transition in the wine's color towards garnet red at the edges. When the glass is swirled, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in the clear stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. This single-varietal Italian wine reveals wonderfully expressive notes of star fruit, blueberries, mangoes and blackcurrants in the glass. There are also hints of vanilla, oriental spices and cinnamon.
On the palate, the Darmagi Langhe from Gaja opens pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. The finish of this red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, more precisely from the Langhe DOC, is ultimately delightful with a good aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the clay and sandstone-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Gaja Darmagi Langhe
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Cabernet Sauvignon. Only first-class grapes were used for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Gaja. In Piedmont, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay, limestone and sandstone soils. The Darmagi Langhe is obviously also determined by climatic and stylistic Langhe DOC factors. This Italian wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, with an exceptionally impressive presentation. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by maturation.
