In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and sand join in.
Vinification of Weingut Bürklin Wolf Deidesheimer Riesling
The basis for the elegant Deidesheimer Riesling from Palatinate is grapes from the Riesling grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay and sand. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Deidesheimer Riesling are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.
