More information about Dolcetto d'Alba DOC - Prunotto

The Prunotto Dolcetto d'Alba is a first-class red wine in a glass. It reveals a wonderfully bright ruby red color. This Prunotto red wine presents the nose with all kinds of blackberries, blueberries, lavender, lilies and lilacs.

The Prunotto Dolcetto d'Alba is pleasantly dry to the palate. This red wine is never coarse or austere, but round and smooth. This melting, crisp and light red wine is balanced and multi-layered on the palate. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, Dolcetto d'Alba DOC to be precise, is ultimately delightful with a remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the marl and clay-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Dolcetto d'Alba from Prunotto

The balanced Dolcetto d'Alba from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Dolcetto grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Piedmont. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of sand, limestone, clay and marl. The grapes for Dolcetto d'Alba are harvested exclusively by hand at optimum ripeness, without the help of coarse and less selective harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation on the fine lees for a few months before the wine is finally bottled.

Wine pairing recommendation for Prunotto Dolcetto d'Alba

This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It goes perfectly with a potato pan with salmon, pumpkin casserole or vegetable couscous with beef rissoles
