More information about Garganega Caliverna - Vignato Virgilio
With the Vignato Virgilio Garganega Caliverna, a first-class white wine finds its way into the swirling glass. There it reveals a wonderfully bright, platinum-yellow color. On the nose, this Vignato Virgilio white wine presents all kinds of green apple, ripe apple, lemons, and mirabelles. As if that were not already impressive, notes of mint/melissa are added thanks to maturation in stainless steel.
This Italian wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with an exceptionally low residual sugar content. As you would expect from a wine, this Italian, despite all its dryness, delights with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. Balanced and multi-layered, this crisp and fleshy white wine presents itself on the palate. The finish of this white wine from the Veneto wine-growing region ultimately convinces with a lovely aftertaste. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral nuances from the volcanic rock–dominated soils.
Vinification of Vignato Virgilio Garganega Caliverna
This balanced white wine from Italy is made from the Garganega grape variety. In Veneto, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on volcanic rock soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Garganega Caliverna can continue to harmonize for several months on the fine lees.
