The I Tratturi Rosso from Cantine San Marzano in the Italian wine-growing region of Apulia is an uncomplicated, fruity red wine.
This wine shines ruby red with violet reflections in the glass. On the nose, this red wine is open and fruity. It reveals aromas of red berries and a fine spiciness. Strawberry, cherry and cranberry aromas are dominant on the palate, but still allow for a hint of fine spicy notes and Mediterranean herbs. The body is medium-bodied, but unfolds in an extremely uncomplicated manner, with the soft tannins coming to the fore. With a medium finish, this dry cuvée is a balanced and uncomplicated red wine.
Vinification of Cantine San Marzano I Tratturi Rosso
The I Tratturi Rosso Salento is a cuvée made from the Sangiovese, the autochthonous Malvasia Nera and Aglianico grape varieties. After the grapes are harvested and pressed, the must and mash cake rest on the lees in steel tanks for 10 days and ferment. The young wine is left to mature in stainless steel tanks.
