Vinification of the Tormaresca Kaloro Moscato di Trani
This dessert wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Moscatel. Only the best grapes were used for this wonderfully elegant single-varietal wine from Tormaresca. The fact that Moscatel grapes thrive in a warm climate also has a major influence on the ripeness of the grapes. Among other things, this results in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high alcohol content in the wine. The grapes for this dessert wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After the grape harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Kaloro Moscato di Trani is allowed to continue to harmonize on the fine lees for 24 months. The maturation in oak barrels is followed by extensive bottle ageing, which makes this dessert wine even more complex.
