More information about Kaloro Moscato di Trani DOC 0,375 l - Tormaresca

In the glass, the organically produced Kaloro Moscato di Trani from Tormaresca reveals a brilliantly shimmering platinum yellow color. In the middle, the tone changes to an expressive color. After the first swirl, this dessert wine is characterized by a fascinating lightness that makes it dance with verve in the glass. The first nose of Kaloro Moscato di Trani reveals nuances of orange blossom, mirabelle plums and apricots. The fruity notes of the bouquet are joined by even more fruity-balsamic nuances.

The Tormaresca Kaloro Moscato di Trani has an incredibly fruity taste on the palate, which is not least due to its residual sweetness. On the palate, this light-footed dessert wine is characterized by an incredibly melting and silky texture. On the finish, this dessert wine from the Apulia wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. Once again, there are hints of jasmine and apricot.

Vinification of the Tormaresca Kaloro Moscato di Trani

This dessert wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Moscatel. Only the best grapes were used for this wonderfully elegant single-varietal wine from Tormaresca. The fact that Moscatel grapes thrive in a warm climate also has a major influence on the ripeness of the grapes. Among other things, this results in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high alcohol content in the wine. The grapes for this dessert wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After the grape harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Kaloro Moscato di Trani is allowed to continue to harmonize on the fine lees for 24 months. The maturation in oak barrels is followed by extensive bottle ageing, which makes this dessert wine even more complex.

Dining recommendations for the Kaloro Moscato di Trani from Tormaresca

This Italian dessert wine is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to veal and onion casserole, lemon and chili chicken with bulgur or elderflower yoghurt ice cream with lemon balm.
