More information about Langhe Nebbiolo DOC - Mauro Molino
The powerful Langhe Nebbiolo from Mauro Molino glides into the glass with a dense ruby red color. The initial nose of the Langhe Nebbiolo reveals nuances of blackberries, blackcurrants and blueberries. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel ageing such as smoked meat, air-dried ham and firewood.
This melting and dense red wine is full-bodied and complex on the palate. Thanks to the moderate fruit acidity, the Langhe Nebbiolo has a velvety mouthfeel without lacking freshness. The finish of this well-matured red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, more precisely from the Langhe DOC, impresses with its remarkable persistence. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the clay and limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Langhe Nebbiolo by Mauro Molino
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Nebbiolo. Only first-class grapes were used for this exceptionally powerful single-varietal wine from Mauro Molino. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Piedmont. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into clay and limestone soils. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand at the time of optimum ripeness. After hand-picking, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Langhe Nebbiolo is matured for a few months in large oak barrels.
