More information about Barbera d'Alba DOC - Mauro Molino

Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of plum, mulberry, rose and plum, rounded off with cocoa bean, vanilla and cinnamon, which are contributed by the barrel ageing.

This dry red wine from Mauro Molino is for wine lovers who prefer to drink it bone dry. The Barbera d'Alba comes very close to this, as it was produced with just 2 grams of residual sugar. This silky and dense red wine is full-bodied and multi-layered on the palate. Thanks to the moderate fruit acidity, the Barbera d'Alba flatters the palate with a soft sensation without lacking freshness. The finish of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Piedmont, more precisely from Barbera d'Alba DOC, ultimately delights with a remarkable aftertaste.

Vinification of the Mauro Molino Barbera d'Alba

This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Barbera. Only flawless grapes were brought in for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Mauro Molino. The grapes for the Barbera d'Alba are harvested exclusively by hand at optimum ripeness, without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Barbera d'Alba is aged for a few months in large oak barrels.

Recommendation for Mauro Molino Barbera d'Alba

This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C with chickpea curry, a potato pan with salmon or cod with cucumber and mustard vegetables.
