More information about Barolo DOCG - Mauro Molino

The barrel-aged Barolo from the Piedmont wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in a dense ruby red. Held at a slight angle, a transition of the wine's color towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in church windows at the edge of the glass. The nose of this Mauro Molino red wine reveals all kinds of lilies, black cherries, morello cherries, lilac and lavender.

The Barolo from Mauro Molino is ideal for all wine connoisseurs who like it dry. However, it is never austere or brittle, but round and smooth. This creamy and dense red wine is full-bodied and multi-faceted on the palate. Thanks to the balanced fruit acidity, the Barolo flatters the palate with a pleasing sensation without lacking freshness. On the finish, this mature red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region impresses with its exceptional length. There are again hints of morello cherry and black cherry. Mineral notes from the limestone and clay-dominated soils are added to the finish.

Vinification of Mauro Molino Barolo

This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Nebbiolo. Only the best grapes were used for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Mauro Molino. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Piedmont. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. Barolo is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand at the time of optimum ripeness. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Barolo is matured for 18 months in oak barriques.

Recommendation for Mauro Molino Barolo
