More information about Loto Toscana IGT - Villa Santo Stefano
The powerful Loto Toscana from Villa Santo Stefano shimmers a dense purple red in the glass. At the edge, this Italian red also shows a transition to garnet red. If you give it a little air in the wine glass by swirling it, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in church windows at the edge of the glass. When poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully fragrant and complex aromas of blackberry, mulberry, blackcurrant and blueberry, rounded off with smoked meat, black bread and oriental spices from the barrel ageing process.
The Villa Santo Stefano Loto Toscana delights with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety and dense. On the finish, this storable red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of blackberry and mulberry.
Vinification of the Loto Toscana from Villa Santo Stefano
The powerful Loto Toscana from Italy is a cuvée made from the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grape varieties. The Loto Toscana is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Loto Toscana is matured for another 14 months in French oak barriques.
