Merlot Garda DOC - Tenuta Roveglia

Vinification of the Tenuta Roveglia Merlot

The balanced Merlot from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Merlot grape variety. In Lombardy, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sedimentary and weathered rock. The Merlot is obviously also influenced by the climate and the Garda DOC viticultural style. This Italian wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word and is extraordinarily impressive. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Merlot is matured for a few months in large oak barrels.

This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C with duck breast with sugar snaps, goose breast with gingery red cabbage and marjoram or stuffed peppers.
