More information about Numero Dieci - Sassotondo
With the Sassotondo Numero Dieci, a first-class organic white wine finds its way into the glass. It reveals a wonderfully bright, pale yellow color. The initial nose of the Numero Dieci presents nuances of quince and dried apricot. Notes from barrel aging, such as additional fruity-balsamic nuances, complement the fruity aspects of the bouquet.
The Sassotondo Numero Dieci presents itself to the wine drinker pleasantly dry. This white wine never appears coarse or lean, as one might expect from a wine. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced white wine is wonderfully crisp and fleshy. On the finish, this white wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region delights with a beautiful length. Once again, hints of dried apricot and quince appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the volcanic rock-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Numero Dieci from Sassotondo
The basis for the balanced Numero Dieci from Tuscany is grapes of the Greco Bianco variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Tuscany. Here the vines sink their roots deep into soils of volcanic rock. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine matures for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
