More information about Isolina - Sassotondo

The Isolina from the Tuscan wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in a bright light yellow. On the nose, this Sassotondo white wine offers all kinds of acacia notes.

The Sassotondo Isolina impresses with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with an exceptionally low residual sugar content. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite its dryness, this Italian delights with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, this well-balanced white wine is characterized by an extremely crisp texture. On the finish, this wine from the Tuscan wine region finally delights with beautiful length. Once again, hints of acacia appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the volcanic rock–dominated soils are added.

Vinification of Sassotondo Isolina

The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Isolina cuvée from Sassotondo are Greco Bianco, Sauvignon Blanc and Trebbiano grapes. In Tuscany, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on volcanic rock soils. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Isolina can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.

Food recommendation for Sassotondo Isolina

This Italian is best enjoyed well chilled at 8–10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to asparagus salad with quinoa, spinach gratin with almonds or fried trout with ginger and pear.
