More information about Pin Monferrato DOC - La Spinetta

The Pin Monferrato from La Spinetta in Piedmont presents a dense, ruby red color in the glass. If you tilt the glass slightly, you can see a transition of color towards garnet red at the edges. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in church windows at the edge of the glass. When poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from Italy reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of mulberry, blackcurrant, blueberry and blackberry, rounded off with lovage, Mediterranean herbs and juniper.

This dry red wine from La Spinetta is for wine lovers who like their wine dry. The Pin Monferrato comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 1.3 grams of residual sugar. Thanks to its balanced fruit acidity, Pin Monferrato has a soft mouthfeel without lacking in juicy liveliness. On the finish, this red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region delights with its beautiful length. Once again, there are hints of blackcurrant and mulberry.

Vinification of La Spinetta Pin Monferrato

The basis for the powerful Pin Monferrato from Piedmont are grapes from the Barbera and Nebbiolo grape varieties. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by ageing.

Dining recommendations for the Pin Monferrato from La Spinetta
