Vinification for the Ca di Pian Barbera d'Asti DOC from La Spinetta

The vines for this wine grow on calcareous soils in the Castagnole and Costigliole regions.

Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature for 6-7 days, followed by ageing in partly new and partly old French oak barrels for 12 months. The wine is then transferred to stainless steel tanks for 12 months before maturing in the bottle for a further year.
