In the glass, the Sangiovese from Conte di Campiano reveals a bright ruby-red color. The initial nose of this Sangiovese presents black cherries, morello cherries, and plums. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes from barrel aging, adding further fruity-balsamic nuances.
On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully velvety. Thanks to its lively acidity, the Sangiovese appears impressively fresh and vibrant on the palate. On the finish, this age-worthy red wine from the Emilia-Romagna wine region delights with good length. Once again, hints of plum and black cherry emerge.
Vinification of Conte di Campiano Sangiovese
This balanced Sangiovese from Italy is a varietal wine made from the Sangiovese grape. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the press house, where they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Sangiovese is matured for several more months in oak barrels.
