The Vigneti Massa Sentieri presents itself to the wine lover pleasantly dry. This red wine never comes across as coarse or meager, but rather round and smooth. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an extraordinarily velvety and fleshy texture. On the finish, this red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region delights with beautiful length. Once again, hints of sour cherry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone- and clay-dominated soils are added.
Vinification of Vigneti Massa Sentieri
The powerful Sentieri from Italy is a varietal wine made from the Barbera grape. In Piedmont, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay and limestone soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
