More information about SUD Malvasia Nera - Cantine San Marzano

The SUD Malvasia Nera from Cantine San Marzano is a single-varietal, soft and full-bodied red wine from the Italian wine-growing region of Apulia.

This wine shimmers in the glass in a ruby red color with black-violet reflections. Its fruity, spicy bouquet unfolds on the nose, dominated by black cherry, clove, cinnamon and elderberry. On the palate, this Italian red wine offers a strong, fruity ensemble of aromas. Wonderfully integrated wood notes combine with the spice of star anise, cinnamon, clove and the fruit of red berry jam. The SUD Malvasia Nera is round and soft and closes with a lingering finish.

Vinification of the Cantine San Marzano Sud Malvasia Nera

The must from the single-varietal Malvasia Nera grapes is left on the skins for 10 days after harvesting and pressing. It is then placed in French oak barriques to mature. This red wine is matured in these for 4 months, giving it its spicy character.

Dining recommendations for the Malvasia San Marzano SUD

Enjoy this red wine from Italy with spicy, oriental and Indian dishes, such as lamb curry or masala, braised meat, but also with stewed fruit and almond cookies.
