More information about Zweigelt - Villscheider
With the Villscheider Zweigelt, a first-class red wine finds its way into the well-polished wine glass. There it offers a wonderfully radiant, light red color. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine presents wonderfully complex aromas of raspberry, rounded off by vanilla, minerals and black cherry.
On the palate, Villscheider’s Zweigelt opens pleasantly dry, firm and aromatic. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine appears wonderfully light and meaty. The finish of this wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige winegrowing region delights with a beautiful length. Once again, hints of raspberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Villscheider Zweigelt
The balanced Zweigelt from Italy is a varietal wine, vinified from the Zweigelt grape. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Trentino-Alto Adige. Here the vines sink their roots deep into limestone soils. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by several months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.

This Italian red wine is best enjoyed at a tempered 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine for lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, fried calf’s liver with apples, onions and balsamic sauce, or boiled veal shoulder with beans and tomatoes.
