More information about Barbaresco DOCG - Massimo Rivetti
The Barbaresco from the pen of Massimo Rivetti from Piedmont presents a dense, ruby red color in the wine glass. If you give it a little air in the glass by swirling it, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which can be seen in clear stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. Ideally poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from the Old World offers wonderfully expressive aromas of blackberry, mulberry, blackcurrant and blueberry, rounded off with cocoa bean, vanilla and cinnamon, which are contributed by the barrel ageing process.
This dry red wine from Massimo Rivetti is just the thing for wine lovers who like it absolutely dry. The Barbaresco comes very close to this, as it was produced with just 0.9 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully silky and dense. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, Barbaresco is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this well-matured red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, Barbaresco DOCG to be precise, is impressive with a remarkable aftertaste.
Vinification of the Massimo Rivetti Barbaresco
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Nebbiolo. Only flawless grapes were brought in for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Massimo Rivetti. Once perfect physiological ripeness has been ensured, the grapes for the Barbaresco are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
