The Botrosecco Maremma Toscana from Le Mortelle in Tuscany presents a bright, purple-red color in the swirled glass. After the first swirl, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. The first nose of Botrosecco Maremma Toscana reveals nuances of blueberries, plum must and morello cherries. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel ageing such as cinnamon, black tea and cocoa bean.

This Italian wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with just 1.6 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so, despite its dryness, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully silky, melting and fleshy. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, Botrosecco Maremma Toscana is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region is impressive with its considerable length. Once again, there are hints of Mon Cheri cherry and morello cherry. In the finish, mineral notes from the sand and clay-dominated soils are added.

Vinification of Le Mortelle Botrosecco Maremma Toscana

The basis for the balanced Botrosecco Maremma Toscana from Tuscany are grapes from the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. In Tuscany, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loam, sand, clay and marl. Clearly, Botrosecco Maremma Toscana is also determined by climatic and stylistic factors Maremma Toscana DOC. This Italian wine can literally be described as a wine of the Old World, which presents itself in an extraordinarily impressive way. The ripening of the grapes for this Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon wine is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Tuscany, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high must weight. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand once optimum ripeness has been ensured. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Botrosecco Maremma Toscana is matured in oak barriques for a further 12 months.
