The Brecciarolo Rosso Piceno Superiore from Velonesi perfectly combines the berry fruit of a southern Italian wine with the juicy, fresh structure of a Chianti. The Sangiovese grapes give it a fine acidity and the Montepulciano grapes lend it density and smoothness.

The stunning Brecciarolo Rosso Piceno Superiore from Velonesi pampers the nose with fresh, dark berries, especially blueberries and blackberries. There are also spicy hints of coffee, a hint of liquorice and elegant wood notes. The palate is soft and reveals plenty of ripe fruit, well-integrated acidity and delicate tannins. Finally, it flows into a fiery and particularly powerful finish.

Vinification of the Brecciarolo from Velenosi

The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-October. After destemming, fermentation takes place in 200 hl steel fermenters for around 20 days. After fermentation, the Brecciarolo is placed in second-use barriques.
