The Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore DOC by Tenuta Guado al Tasso is the flagship of the Bolgheri wine of the legendary Antinori family. This unique red wine exudes nuances of ripe red and black berries and dark chocolate, complemented by spicy roasted aromas and aromatic Arabica coffee. On the palate, it inspires with complexity and balance, elegance and straightness, excellent structure with gentle tannins. The very long-lasting finish is in harmony with the aromas and gives a pleasant reverberation.
Vinification of Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore DOC by Guado al Tasso
For this Bolgheri Superiore, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, sometimes a little Petit Verdot, are vinified in a cuvée. The award-winning and renowned terroir wine of the Tenuta Guado al Tasso has been produced since 1990.
The grapes are carefully picked manually, destemmed in the wine cellar and selected before being pressed separately according to grape varieties. The alcoholic fermentation and maceration of the individual varieties are carried out in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for a period of 15 to 20 days. During this time, the husk is lifted and oxygen is supplied to the wine, variable depending on the needs of the individual grape varieties. After subtraction from the skins, the wines are transferred to new barriques in which malolactic fermentation takes place until the end of the year, which is followed by ageing for 18 months. After careful inspection of each individual barrique, the cuvée of the wines is made and the Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore is bottled, in which it matures for a further 10 months before being placed on the market.
