More information about Cudì Malvasia Passito 0,375 l - Colosi
In the glass, Colosi’s Cudì Malvasia Passito presents a bright golden-yellow color. This dessert wine from Colosi reveals aromas of dried apricot, prunes, raisins, and acacia, complemented by almond and honey. On the palate, the elegant Colosi Cudì Malvasia Passito shows an incredibly fruity flavor, which is, of course, due to its residual sweetness. On the tongue, this well-balanced dessert wine is characterized by an exceptionally silky, dense, creamy, and velvety texture. The finish of this dessert wine from the Sicilian wine-growing region, more precisely from Sicilia DOC, delights with a beautiful aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints from the volcanic-rock-dominated soils.
Vinification of Colosi Cudì Malvasia Passito
The basis for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Cudì Malvasia Passito cuvée from Colosi is Corinto Nero and Malvasia delle Lipari grapes. In Sicily, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on volcanic rock soils. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months in oak barrels.
Food recommendation for Colosi Cudì Malvasia Passito
Enjoy this Italian dessert wine best when moderately chilled at 11–13°C, as an accompaniment to blackberry cream dessert, yogurt mousse with poppy seeds, or pear–lime strudel.
