More information about Gavi DOCG - Fontanafredda

The Fontanafredda Gavi is a first-class white wine in a glass. It offers a wonderfully brilliant, platinum yellow color. This single-varietal Italian wine displays wonderfully youthful notes of pomelo, grapefruit, lime and kumquat in the glass. There are also hints of other fruits.

This Italian wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with 3.1 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine at the upper end of the price range, this Italian wine naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need sugar. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by an incredibly light texture. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, the Gavi is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region finally delights with good length. Once again, there are hints of lime and apple.

Vinification of the Gavi from Fontanafredda

This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Cortese. Only first-class grapes were used for this wonderfully elegant single-varietal wine from Fontanafredda. After harvesting, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Gavi can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months. Once the wine is finished, the Gavi is carefully harmonized.

Dining recommendations for Fontanafredda Gavi

Ideally, enjoy this white wine from Italy moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C as an accompaniment to cod with cucumber and mustard vegetables, cabbage roulades or vegetable stew with pesto.
