More information about Gavi di Gavi DOCG - Fontanafredda

The Fontanafredda Gavi di Gavi is a first-class white wine in a glass. It presents a wonderfully brilliant, platinum yellow color. In the glass, this white wine from Fontanafredda reveals aromas of pears, kumquats, grapefruit, honeysuckle and pomelo, complemented by gingerbread spice, black tea and vanilla. On the palate, the Gavi di Gavi from Fontanafredda is wonderfully aromatic, fruity and balanced, and despite its dry taste, this white wine impresses with its juicy texture and elegantly integrated residual sweetness. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, the Gavi di Gavi is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region finally delights with its considerable length. Once again, there are hints of grapefruit and pomelo. Mineral notes from the sandstone and marl-dominated soils are added to the finish.

Vinification of Fontanafredda Gavi di Gavi

This elegant white wine from Italy is made from the Cortese grape variety. In Piedmont, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on sand, limestone, sandstone and marl soils. The grapes for this white wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled. Once the wine is finished, the Gavi di Gavi is carefully harmonized.

Dining recommendations for Fontanafredda Gavi di Gavi

This Italian wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is the perfect accompaniment to chickpea curry, lemon-chilli chicken with bulgur or leek tortilla
