Vinification of Gelsonero Lacryma Christi Rosso by Villa Dora

This balanced red wine from Italy is vinified from the Aglianico and Piedirosso grape varieties. In Campania, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on volcanic rock soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine ages for several months on the fine lees before it is finally drawn off.
