More information about Incipit - Borgo Macereto
In the glass, the Incipit from the hand of Borgo Macereto offers a bright light red color. This Italian cuvée reveals wonderfully complex notes of raspberries in the glass. Added to this are hints of cloves, cinnamon, and leather.
Borgo Macereto Incipit tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a true quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this Italian delights with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense, meaty, and velvety texture. The finish of this red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region ultimately impresses with a beautiful aftertaste. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral facets from the limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of Incipit from Borgo Macereto
The balanced Incipit from Italy is a cuvée, organically vinified from the Sangiovese and Gamay grape varieties. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Tuscany. Here the vines drive their roots deep into limestone soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
