In the glass, this red wine from Napolini offers aromas of raspberries, complemented by cloves and cinnamon. On the palate, Napolini’s Montefalco Rosso starts off wonderfully dry, firm, and aromatic. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine presents itself as wonderfully velvety, fleshy, and dense. The finish of this red wine from the Umbria wine region ultimately impresses with a beautiful aftertaste. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral facets from the clay-dominated soils.
Vinification of Montefalco Rosso from Napolini
The basis for the powerful Montefalco Rosso from Italy is grapes from the Sangiovese, Merlot, Montepulciano and Sagrantino varieties. In Umbria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay soils. After harvesting, the grapes quickly make their way to the winery, where they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the powerful Montefalco Rosso is aged for another 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
