The elegant Pinot Nero from Pelz glides into the glass with luminous bright red. The nose presents a variety of strawberry jams in this Pelz red wine. As if that were not already impressive, additional aromas like pepper join in through aging in small oak barrels.
This wine tastes pleasantly dry. It has been bottled with an exceptionally low residual sugar content. As one might expect from a wine, this Italian delight, despite its dryness, enchants with the finest balance. Excellent taste does not necessarily require sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully creamy. The finish finally impresses with considerable length. Once again, hints of strawberry jam are noticeable. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the sandy soils complement the profile.
Vinification of Pelz Pinot Nero
The basis for the balanced Pinot Nero from Trentino-Alto Adige are grapes from the Pinot Noir variety. In Trentino-Alto Adige, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on sandy soils. The grapes for this Italian red wine are harvested by hand at the optimal ripeness. After harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the winery. Here, they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden vessels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the elegant Pinot Nero is aged for another 14 months in oak barrels made from oak wood.
