More information about Barolo Riserva DOCG - Paolo Manzone

In the glass, the Barolo Riserva from Paolo Manzone reveals a dense ruby red color. With a slight tilt, the Burgundy glass showcases a charming garnet tone at the edges. This varietal Italian wine displays wonderfully expressive notes of plums, blackberries, blueberries, and sour cherries. Additionally, hints of oriental spices, cocoa bean, and dark chocolate accompany these aromas.

The Barolo Riserva by Paolo Manzone is just right for all wine drinkers who prefer minimal residual sweetness in their wine. However, it never appears meager or austere, as one might expect from a wine beyond the supermarkets. Powerful and multifaceted, this hefty and dense red wine reveals itself on the palate. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, the Barolo Riserva presents a wonderfully fresh and vibrant character on the palate. In the finish, this highly age-worthy red wine from the Piedmont wine region ultimately impresses with considerable length. There are again hints of plum and black currant. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone and clay-dominated soils are added.

Vinification of the Paolo Manzone Barolo Riserva

This powerful red wine from Italy is made from the Nebbiolo grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Piedmont. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. There, they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation follows in amphorae, small, and large wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification concludes with aging for 60 months in Slavonian oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Barolo Riserva by Paolo Manzone

Ideally, enjoy this red wine from Italy at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, baked sheep cheese packets, or spicy lamb curry.
