More information about Faro - Fondo Dei Barbera
The elegant Faro from Fondo Dei Barbera flows into the glass with a bright purplish red. On the nose, this red wine from Fondo Dei Barbera presents all kinds of blackberry, sour cherry, plum and currant. As if that weren’t already impressive, the maturation in large wooden casks adds notes of basil, blackcurrant and redcurrant.
The Fondo Dei Barbera Faro presents itself to the wine enthusiast as wonderfully dry. This red wine never appears rough or austere, but rather round and smooth. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an exceptionally dense, velvety and fleshy texture. The finish of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Sicily, more precisely from Sicilia DOC, ultimately impresses with a lovely aftertaste.
Vinification of Fondo Dei Barbera Faro
The basis for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Faro cuvée from Fondo Dei Barbera are Carricante, Nerello Cappuccio, Nerello Mascalese and Nero d'Avola grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in oak barrels.
Food recommendation for Fondo Dei Barbera Faro
Ideally, enjoy this red wine from Italy at a temperature of 15–18°C as an accompaniment to boeuf bourguignon, goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram, or braised chicken in red wine.
