The Ghemme Cantalupo Anno Primo, aged in barrel and from the wine-growing region of Piedmont, presents itself in the glass in a bright ruby red. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully velvety, fleshy and dense. On the finish, this wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region delights with a beautiful length. Hints of violet and rose appear once again. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the soils dominated by weathered rock are added.

Vinification of Antichi Vigneti Di Cantalupo Ghemme Cantalupo Anno Primo

This red wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Nebbiolo. For this exceptionally well-balanced varietal wine from Antichi Vigneti Di Cantalupo, only immaculate grape material was used. In Piedmont, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of weathered rock. After being hand-picked, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.

Enjoy this red wine from Italy ideally at a temperature of 15–18°C as a companion to Boeuf Bourguignon, braised chicken in red wine or lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs.
