The Fabrizio Pinsoglio Roero Riserva presents itself wonderfully dry to the wine lover. This red wine never appears coarse or austere, but rather round and smooth. Balanced and complex, this meaty, dense and velvety red wine presents itself on the palate. On the finish, this red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region finally delights with a lovely length. Once again, hints of acacia and ripe apple appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the sand-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Fabrizio Pinsoglio Roero Riserva

The basis for the well-balanced Roero Riserva from Piedmont is grapes of the Nebbiolo variety. In Piedmont, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on sandy soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by maturation for several months in oak barrels.

This Italian red wine is best enjoyed at a temperate 15–18°C. It is a perfect companion to duck breast with sugar snap peas, fried calf’s liver with apples, onions and balsamic sauce, or lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs.
