Vinification of Cantina Terlan Lunare Gewürztraminer Alto Adige
This powerful white wine from Italy is made from the Gewürztraminer grape variety. The Lunare Gewürztraminer Alto Adige is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The development of the grapes for this Gewürztraminer wine is influenced to a very large extent by the climate of the growing region. In Trentino-Alto Adige, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected in particularly long and even grapes and a rather moderate must weight. The grapes for the Lunare Gewürztraminer Alto Adige are harvested exclusively by hand at optimum ripeness, without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the Lunare Gewürztraminer Alto Adige is aged for a further 9 months in oak barrels.
