More information about Macchianera - Claudio Cipressi
The Macchianera from the pen of Claudio Cipressi from Molise reveals a dense, purple-red color in the glass. The first nose of the Macchianera shows nuances of blackberry, raspberry and sour cherry. The fruity hints of the bouquet are joined by notes from barrel ageing such as even more fruity-balsamic nuances.
On the palate, Claudio Cipressi’s Macchianera opens pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an immensely velvety, dense and fleshy texture. On the finish, this red wine from the Molise wine-growing region finally delights with lovely length. Once again, hints of sour cherry and raspberry appear.
Vinification of Macchianera by Claudio Cipressi
The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Macchianera cuvée by Claudio Cipressi are Montepulciano and Tintilia grapes. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the powerful Macchianera is aged for another 18 months in oak barriques.
