More information about Mercuria - Castel Noarna
With Castel Noarna Mercuria, a first-class organic red wine finds its way into the glass. It displays a wonderfully bright, purple-red color. This Italian cuvée presents wonderfully complex notes of blueberry, sour cherry, plum and blackcurrant in the glass. Added to this are hints of forest floor, garrigue and bilberry.
Castel Noarna Mercuria presents itself to the wine lover pleasantly dry. This red wine never appears coarse or austere, but rather round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully velvety, fleshy and dense. On the finish, this wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region delights with lovely length. Once again, nuances of raspberry and blackberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of Mercuria from Castel Noarna
This balanced red wine from Italy is organically vinified from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In Trentino-Alto Adige, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the organically produced Mercuria is matured for another 24 months in oak barrels.
