The elegant P.28 from La Montecchia shines a bright purple-red in the glass. The bouquet of this red wine from Veneto seduces with nuances of raspberry and blackberry. Following the aromas further, blueberry, garrigue and forest floor join in.
On the palate, La Montecchia’s P.28 opens wonderfully dry, firm and aromatic. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine presents itself as wonderfully velvety, fleshy and dense. On the finish, this red wine from the Veneto wine-growing region delights with beautiful length. Once again, hints of raspberry and blackberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the soils dominated by volcanic rock are added.
Vinification of P.28 by La Montecchia
The balanced P.28 from Italy is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Raboso. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Veneto. Here the vines sink their roots deep into soils of volcanic rock. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house without delay. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden casks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, P.28 can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for 12 months.
