The barrel-aged Rosso di Montalcino from the wine-growing region of Tuscany presents itself in a bright ruby red in the glass. Ideally poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World offers wonderfully expressive aromas of blueberry, blackberry, mulberry and blackcurrant, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by the barrel ageing.

The Poggio Landi Rosso di Montalcino delights with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with just 1 gram of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in this price range, this Italian wine naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the palate, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. The Rosso di Montalcino is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its present fruit acidity. The finish of this red wine from the Tuscan wine-growing region of Montalcino, to be precise, is impressive with its remarkable persistence. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets from the clay-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Rosso di Montalcino from Poggio Landi

This balanced red wine from Italy is made from the Sangiovese grape variety. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay soils in Tuscany. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by 15 months of maturation in large French oak barrels. The ageing in wooden barrels is followed by considerable ageing in the bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.
