More information about Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG - La Braccesca
The elegant Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from La Braccesca pours into the glass with a bright purple-red color. Swirling the glass, you can perceive an excellent balance in this red wine, as it neither clings to the glass in a watery way nor in a syrupy or liqueur-like manner. The initial nose of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano presents nuances of plums, lilies and damsons. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes from barrel ageing, as well as additional fruity-balsamic nuances.
La Braccesca’s Vino Nobile di Montepulciano delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in this price range, this Italian, for all its dryness, charms with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily require sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully silky, melting, velvety and dense. On the finish, this cellar-worthy wine from the Tuscan wine-growing region impresses with exceptional length. Hints of lilac and blackberry appear once again.
Vinification of La Braccesca Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
The balanced Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from Italy is a cuvée, vinified from the grape varieties Merlot and Sangiovese. Naturally, the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is also shaped by the climate and winemaking style of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG. This Italian can truly be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, presenting itself as exceptionally refined. The fact that the Merlot and Sangiovese grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate also has a considerable impact on the ripening of the fruit. This is expressed, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a relatively high alcohol content in the wine. The wine berries for this red from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand at optimal ripeness. After hand-picking, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is matured for another 24 months in oak barrels. This is followed by an extended period of bottle ageing, which makes this red wine even more complex.
