More information about Antillo Bolgheri Rosso DOC - Guado al Melo

The Antillo Bolgheri Rosso DOC from Podere Guado al Melo shines dark red-violet in the glass. On the nose, this Tuscan red wine delights with a generous and intense bouquet dominated by wild berries, especially blackberry and raspberry, as well as pleasant fine spicy notes. On the palate, it is lively and fresh, with a fruity, tannic and balanced texture. The finish is long and beautifully persistent.

Vinification of the Antillo Bolgheri DOC from Podere Guado al Melo

The youngest wine from the estate is vinified from 50% Sangiovese, the oldest grape variety grown in Tuscany, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, which represent the younger Tuscan wine history.
The wine is vinified without any additions or corrections that could alter the original character of the grapes in any way. After fermentation, the wine is matured for 12 months in used barriques in 2nd and 3rd use on the fine lees. After bottling, the wine remains in the bottle for some time.

The wine can be stored for 5 to 8 years.

The name Antillo means "place full of sun". Wine was already being grown in this sun-drenched coastal region in Etruscan times. This is why the label is adorned with an Etruscan depiction of vine leaves and vines.

The vineyards are located on loose, deep and structurally rich alluvial soils. The Mediterranean climate is influenced by the thermal winds from the nearby Thyrrenian coast, with remarkable temperature differences between day and night in summer. Farming and winemaking are sustainable and use integrated organic farming methods.
