The barrel-aged Brezanka from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine-growing region reveals itself in the glass with a dense platinum yellow. The nose of this white wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia enchants with aromas of apricot, elderflower, acacia and peach. Pursuing the bouquet further, caramel emerges, promoted by the influence of oak.
This Italian wine impresses with its straightforward, dry flavor profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this Italian delights with the finest balance. Flavor simply does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. Powerful and multi-layered, this crisp white wine presents itself on the palate. On the finish, this white wine from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine-growing region finally delights with a lovely length. Once again, hints of peach and acacia appear.
Vinification of Rado Kocjančič Brezanka
The basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Brezanka cuvée from Rado Kocjančič are Auxerrois, Glera, Pinot Blanc, Ribolla Gialla, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
Food recommendation for Rado Kocjančič Brezanka
Ideally, enjoy this white wine from Italy well chilled at 8–10°C as an accompanying wine with a potato pan with salmon, fruity endive salad or vegetable salad with beetroot.
