More information about Brunello Di Montalcino DOCG - Leonardo da Vinci

The barrel-aged Brunello Di Montalcino from the wine-growing region of Tuscany is a bright ruby red in the glass. Held at a slight angle, a transition in color towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. If you swirl the wine glass, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. The first nose of Brunello Di Montalcino reveals notes of blackberries, blueberries and blackcurrants. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel ageing such as sun-warmed stone and forest floor.

On the palate, the Brunello Di Montalcino from Leonardo da Vinci starts off wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. The texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully velvety on the palate. On the finish, this storable red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. Once again, there are hints of blackcurrant and blueberry.

Vinification of the Leonardo da Vinci Brunello Di Montalcino

The well-balanced Brunello Di Montalcino from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Sangiovese grape variety. Obviously, Brunello Di Montalcino is also determined by the climate and the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG winegrowing style. This Italian wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, presenting itself as exceptionally complex. After harvesting, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by 28 months of maturation in large Slavonian oak barrels. The ageing in barrels is followed by extensive bottle ageing, which makes this red wine even more complex. Once the wine is finished, the Brunello Di Montalcino is carefully harmonized.

Dining recommendations for the Brunello Di Montalcino from Leonardo da Vinci

Ideally, enjoy this red wine from Italy at 15 - 18°C to accompany lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, cod with cucumber and mustard vegetables or leek tortilla.
