This wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler styles and thus, despite all its dryness, this Italian enchants with the finest balance. Excellent flavor does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. Powerful and multi-layered, this velvety, dense and fleshy red wine presents itself on the palate. The finish of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Sicily, more precisely from Sicilia DOC, ultimately convinces with a beautiful aftertaste. Vinification of Mamertino Rosso Curpanè from Tenuta Gatti
The basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Mamertino Rosso Curpanè cuvée from Tenuta Gatti is Carricante and Nero d'Avola grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Sicily. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into limestone soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
